The Ferrocarril de Sóller railway opened in 1912 to carry citrus harvests from the mountain valleys to Palma, its narrow-gauge track threading twenty-seven kilometres of tunnel, viaduct and gradient through the Serra de Tramuntana.
A century later the line remains a functional monument to turn-of-the-century engineering, its rolling stock preserved in mahogany and brass, its route unchanged.
